Denver Pioneers fall to Colorado Buffaloes 7-4 in scrappy home opener

Hockey 2DENVER- A 9 p.m. time slot on a cold, rainy October 5th Friday night didn’t stop spectators from showing up to Joy Burns Arena to witness the 2-2-1 University of Colorado Buffaloes defeat the 2-3 Denver Pioneers by a score of 7-4. The ACHA Division II Men’s Hockey season kicked off in Denver, Colorado this past weekend, as family, friends and fans alike lined the stands wrapping around Joy Burns, making for an intimate atmosphere despite a home opener loss. “Fake news” and bots are still around in 2018; And college students are starting to grow weary of them

  IMG_4218 With the toxicity of political discourse very present in our current day, it seems the ‘fake news’ epidemic that successfully tampered with voters back in 2016 and created  conflict around the nation is still active, although ominously enough, now the result of American fake news campaigns. Hundreds of apparent bot accounts took to twitter on the morning of Thursday, September 23rd at exactly 2 a.m. CST with a defamatory statement against Beto O’Rourke, Democratic candidate for Texas Senate running against incumbent Ted Cruz, worded exactly the same with hashtags and emojis to boot.
